Current Concepts for the Treatment of Lower Back Pain A Research Based Summary: Mobilization, Stabilization and Beyond This course will provide Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants with the necessary knowledge and expertise needed to address low back pain in a varied patient population. Special topics will include the current evidence which is directing the profession to the utilization of treatment based classifications align with clinical prediction rules in the management of chronic low back pain. Participants will also discuss the benefits of sub grouping patients to better enable research and provide validity regarding the most effective assessment and treatment available. Student lab participation involves testing to evaluate lumbar instability, performance of advanced joint mobilization of the lumbar complex and several evidence-based neurodynamics techniques. COURSE OUTLINE This course is 7 hours long and requires 6 hours of homestudy. We will send you written confirmation of the course time and location along with your homestudy materials 21 days before the date of the course. All IWA class sizes are limited and fill quickly. On-site - The course will last for 7 hours and will consist of lecture, lab, student participation in techniques, manual review and a practical exam. Students will be graded during the practical exam as well as with oral questioning during the day and lab observation. This information will be included in your confirmation letter sent to you 21 days before the course. Homestudy - You will be sent a homestudy textbook with your confirmation letter 21 days before the course. You will be required to spend 6 hours reviewing the information in the textbook.
